ABOUT

The Riding School at Kenilworth Stables offers a very comprehensive education in the hunter-jumper discipline, both in and out of the saddle. All riders learn the importance of proper horsemanship in addition to strong riding basics before advancing to higher levels. Our instruction functions on a thorough curriculum, high standards for our riders, and the utmost respect for our horses. We are very fortunate to have a large team of school horses whose former competitive careers, sweet personalities, and extensive training make them incredible schoolmasters. With members of all ages and levels and a fun, supportive community, the Riding School offers a welcoming, positive learning environment. Members often spend time at the stable outside of their lessons - be it watching lessons and cheering each other on, doing work or homework in the lounge, or helping out with chores around the barn. We offer morning and midday lessons for adults with flexible schedules, and also have some fun evening and weekend groups that often end with a "barn picnic" or a glass of wine. We have two arenas to accommodate 2-3 lessons at a time in popular afternoon and evening times, and three professional trainers with cumulatively over 85 years of experience in the sport.

HOW IT WORKS

All new students begin with private lessons before joining appropriate group classes in the Riding School. Through the introductory package of 4 private lessons, beginners learn how to properly groom, tack up, and untack their horses, in addition to some time in the saddle of course! Once approved to tack up independently - which for beginners is typically after a couple introductory packages - students arrive to the stable early to prepare their horse, ready to ride at the start of their lesson time. At this point students start introductory or regular membership with a minimum of 8 lessons per month. Full Riding School membership will commence when students are able to join group classes in the Riding School, which vary from beginner junior flat to advanced adult jumping. Please see the links below for more information on getting started!

**Please note that as we are a membership-based Riding School, we do not offer trail rides, horse rentals, or recreational group rides. We do maintain a waitlist, thus may not be able to accommodate requests promptly; thank you for your patience.
